And had the chance to go level with Liverpool on 44.
Before the match, Liverpool's Twitter bio described the club as 'England's most successful club with 41 major honours'.
But after Zlatan Ibrahimovic's late winner the bio no longer mentions the amount of trophies they have won.
Liverpool are unlikely to add to their total this season as they are 14 points behind Chelsea in the Premier League and out of every other competition.
But United are still in the Europa League and FA Cup.
