Thierry Henry: This Man United legend is the best player I played against

THIERRY HENRY has hailed Manchester United legend Paul Scholes as the best player he's played against.

Scholes is widely thought to be one of the best English midfielders of his generation after a trophy laden career.

The former England international faced Henry on several occasions as United and Arsenal fought for the biggest trophies.

In a discussion about Tottenham ace Dele Alli, who was sent off in midweek, Henry lauded Scholes for his ability to channel his aggression.

"You need to learn how to channel it [the aggression]" Henry told Sky Sports.

"But you don't want to take it away from them.

"People used to say he couldn't tackle and he knew exactly what he was doing.

"But that doesn't change the fact that he's the best player I've played against."
