DEJAN LOVREN has given Liverpool a much-needed boost by returning to training today.
By STUART BALLARD
The 27-year-old has been suffering from a persistent knee problem and has not played in Liverpool's last three matches.
Lovren was left out of Liverpool's mini break to La Manga last month and travelled to Germany last week to visit a specialist.
But the Croatia international trained today at Melwood putting him in contention for a return to face Arsenal on Saturday (5.30pm).
It is still unlikely he will be risked though with just one more session before Arsenal visit Anfield.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to get the defender back fit to reunite him with defensive partner Joel Matip.
The pair have played just 12 times together, but the Reds have lost just once in those games.
Meanwhile Jordan Henderson is unlikely to feature against the Gunners after the midfielder missed Liverpool's 3-1 defeat to Leicester with a foot injury.
Jurgen Klopp said: "It looks like he will not be ready for Arsenal.

"That's how it looks but I'm not sure, we will see."
