Romelu Lukaku would only consider Man Utd move if this happens: Why Chelsea are favourites

ROMELU LUKAKU would only consider a summer move to Manchester United if they qualify for the Champions League - making Chelsea favourites for his signature.

Lukaku has rejected a new contract at Goodison Park and says he wants to leave Everton to win trophies.

He has been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge while Manchester United are monitoring his situation.

His agent Mino Raiola appeared to meet Ed Woodward just a week after Lukaku had rejected the new Toffees deal.
But Raiola also works with United stars Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

However Express Sport understands United are keen on Lukaku and they will ramp up their interest if Ibrahimovic decides to leave Manchester after one season.

But the Belgium star wants to be playing in the Champions League next season meaning United must finish in the top four or win the Europa League.
If they achieve neither of those then Lukaku would reject any offer handing the initiative to Chelsea.

United are currently in fifth place and are four points behind Liverpool but do have two games in hand.

Antonio Conte wants to re-sign Lukaku with Diego Costa's future uncertain.

Chelsea are 10 points clear at the top of the league and are all but guaranteed Champions League football for next season.
Lukaku is the Premier League's top scorer this term with 21 goals, but is adamant his future is elsewhere.

"It's done. I want to win titles and trophies," he said last week.

“That's not being arrogant, just ambitious. There is nothing wrong with ambition, you need to embrace it."
