Arsenal won the game at the King Power Stadium 1-0 thanks to a second-half own goal by Leicester defender Robert Huth.

However, the Gunners' win was marred by an incident involving Alexis Sanchez and Foxes left-back Christian Fuchs.

The Austria international took a throw-in which struck Sanchez in the face before the Chilean flung himself to the floor in dramatic fashion.

Referee Mike Jones was not conned and gave the Arsenal man a yellow card and he was later mocked by fans on social media.

However, the 28-year-old took to Twitter after the game to protest is innocence and shared a picture of himself holding an ice pack to his cut lip.

"Happy for the victory but ended up with a swollen lip," Sanchez wrote.

Speaking after the game, Arsene Wenger added: "I didn’t see where he was hit.

“I saw the first two attempts, when Fuchs tried to throw the ball in, Sanchez stood next to him.
“I think he didn’t know he had to be further away.

"I must say as well the referee also didn’t tell him he had to move away so he thought he was in the right position.

“After that he got a yellow card because he didn’t respect the rule - I accept that because he was not at the right distance.”
Arsenal's 1-0 win has hotted up the Premier League top-four chase, with the Gunners now just four points adrift.

With two games in hand over third-place Liverpool, Arsene Wenger's side now have real chance of securing a Champions League spot for next season.

They take on north London rivals Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday (4.30pm).
