MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly closing in on Torino striker Andrea Belotti as a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered an injury in the 2-1 Europa League win over Anderlecht this week which could spell disaster for Manchester United's season.

The Daily Star claim the Swede has decided to retire rather than spending a lengthy spell on the sidelines, meaning he will not extend his contract with the Red Devils.

And Jose Mourinho has reportedly acted swiftly to find a replacement for the 35-year-old striker and has settled on Torino's Andrea Belotti.
The Daily Mirror claim United are closing in on a deal for the highly-rated Italy international.

However, Torino are insisting they match the 23-year-old's £84million release clause which the Italian club drew up in December.

Belotti certainly has the ability in front of goal to replace Ibrahimovic after scoring an impressive 25 goals in 29 Serie A appearances this term.
Speaking this week about losing Belotti, Torino boss Sinisa Mihajlovic said: "It would be difficult to replace Belotti.

"Big offers will come sooner or later and at that point it could be hard to stay. Belotti is 23 and he could score 30 goals each season.

“Some big club could come here and offer him five, six, seven million a year for five years."

He is under contract at Torino until June 2021.
