JESSE LINGARD has reportedly agreed a new four-year deal with Manchester United.
By DAN GIBBS
Lingard has impressed for Manchester United this season with his standout moment coming in the EFL Cup final when he netted at Wembley against Southampton.
His performances for the Red Devils have not gone unnoticed with The Sun claiming Chelsea and Arsenal have been keen on prising him away from Old Trafford in the summer.
But according to Sky Sports, Lingard has dealt the Premier League duo a blow by committing his long-term future to the Red Devils.
Lingard’s current contract has just over a year left to run but manager Jose Mourinho has been keen to tie him down long-term.
His new deal will see him take home £100,000 a week.
The 24-year-old has been with United since the age of seven and signed his first professional contract in 2011.
Under Louis van Gaal’s leadership Lingard established himself as a first-team regular.
And Mourinho is now keen for the midfielder to be used as part of his plans going forward.
