Southampton 0 - Manchester City 3: Guardiola's men spark second-half rout to move third

MANCHESTER CITY ran riot at St Mary’s with a second-half masterclass to maintain their top-four push.

Manchester City sparked into life after a first half without a shot on target from either side.

Vincent Kompany headed home his first goal since 2015 nine minutes into the second half.
And a quick-fire double from Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero completed the victory on the south coast.

Aguero looked like he wouldn’t continue when Southampton's Ryan Bertrand scraped his studs down the Argentina striker’s Achilles.
But he recovered the spearhead City’s second-half assault, heading home himself with 11 minutes left.

The result sees City move above Liverpool into third place, with the Reds facing West Brom in tomorrow’s 1.30pm kick off.
